Frequently Asked Questions

How does TeleCare Haus handle bloodwork, imaging, and labs?

Your Primary Care provider at TeleCare Haus can order lab work, imaging studies, referrals, and vaccinations. If needed, our Care Team will assist in connecting you to an in-network lab or facility of your choice. If you have an account, your results will be uploaded to your TeleCare Haus account.

Is it necessary to upload images for a consultation?

If you are looking for treatments for a skin related condition we do require photos to ensure our clinicians can properly review and diagnose your skin condition(s). It is required that at least two images be uploaded before your review is scheduled.

What if I need urgent care or to speak with a medical provider immediately?

If you require care immediately for non-emergency conditions like colds, flu, sinus infections, or allergies, you can request an Urgent Medical visit to speak with a clinician 24/7. A premium charge of $20 will be applied to provide immediate access to a medical provider instead of waiting for a scheduled same-day or next-day appointment.

Can TeleCare Haus handle emergency situations?

TeleCare Haus should not be used for medical or mental health emergencies. In the event of an emergency, please call 911.

Can I receive a prescription through TeleCare Haus?

Yes. Our Primary Care providers can initiate new medication treatments and authorize refills. Your provider will work with you to determine which medications are clinically necessary and appropriate, including common prescriptions for high blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol. Maintenance medications may be prescribed for up to 6 months. If you require a refill not previously prescribed by our care providers, please upload an image of the medication bottle or the prescription needing a refill to ensure accurate medication and dosing. *Please note there is a limit of 10 medication refills per visit

How will my virtual exam be conducted?

Before your appointment, your chosen primary care provider will review the details provided in your Intake Forms. The visit will take place via phone call from your provider (video option is also available on request). Should in-person care be necessary, your provider and Care Team will facilitate and coordinate your visit to an on-site clinic nearest you.

Does TeleCare Haus offer medication home delivery services?

Yes, we collaborate with online pharmacy teams across Ontario to offer home delivery services to you and your family, including free delivery for online pharmacies we partner with.

Is there a fee for obtaining a doctor's note?

Yes, obtaining a medical note is a non-insured service. Medical notes can also be backdated if required.

How is my personal information kept secure and private?

Our EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system, OSCAR EMR, is fully compliant with PHIPPA regulations, ensuring your Personal Information (PI) and Personal Health Information (PHI) are managed in strict accordance with legal record-keeping and retention policies.

What measures are in place to secure patient accounts?

Two-factor authentication will be used as a security measure for any accounts created. This will require patients to set up a unique password and provides an extra layer of protection by verifying your identity each time you log in.

How does TeleCare Haus validate patient health information?

We employ multiple methods to verify your health information, tailored to the type of insurance coverage you have. For patients with provincial coverage, we utilize ministry health card validation services. For those with third-party coverage, we use alternative verification credentials to ensure the accuracy and security of your health data.
